Fight Dementia Campaign

The 2011/12 Federal Budget was a severe disappointment to people with dementia, their families and their carers, with no new funding to combat the dementia epidemic and terminating the Dementia Initiative. This means a loss of guaranteed funding for essential programs and support services for people living with dementia.

Alzheimer’s Australia wants the 2012/13 Federal Budget to both commit to aged care reform and to recognise that this requires a focus on dementia and additional funding over the next 5 years.

You can help by joining the Fight Dementia march:

Meet: Back of Old Parliament House
9:30am: Registration open
10:30am: March to Parliament House
11:00am: Assembly for speeches from:
• Ita Buttrose, AO, OBE, President Alzheimer’s Australia
• The Hon Mark Butler, Minister for Mental Health & Ageing
• Personal story of dementia
11:30am: BBQ Lunch
