The 2011/12 Federal Budget was a severe disappointment to people with dementia, their families and their carers, with no new funding to combat the dementia epidemic and terminating the Dementia Initiative. This means a loss of guaranteed funding for essential programs and support services for people living with dementia.
Alzheimer’s Australia wants the 2012/13 Federal Budget to both commit to aged care reform and to recognise that this requires a focus on dementia and additional funding over the next 5 years.

Afternoon Consumer Summit: Have your say!
For those who would like to participate, we will be holding a Consumer Summit, after the march, in the Main Committee Room of Parliament House where you can hear from leaders in the dementia field and ask your questions.
