Kaon Bell one to be avoided when he's released in 2026

So he commits 11 crimes, with total maximum sentences of 135 years, and gets 15. Got off pretty lightly in my opinion. Should be never seeing the outside of prison again.

Simple really, lets reintroduce capital punishment.

The surprising thing is Kaon always seemed the most well adjusted of his siblings (after all he was the least home-schooled). Maybe it was not the bullying that made him bad, maybe he was born broken… Then again, maybe all the dickhead popular & bogan kids broke him with their abuse/torments (seriously, they all had it really rough).

His older brother N (from my year) seemed to suffer much worse bullying than Kaon during highschool. Even then, what all of them went though was so horrible I still think if other kids were nicer (and teachers were more active in preventing bullying) Kaon might not have ended up so damaged/emotionally-disconnected enough to do something like this.

I’m glad Kaon got a significant sentence (his victim deserves nothing less). Kaon is obviously very messed up and sick and maybe should never be allowed to mingle with the rest of society.

Please don’t take this as excusing Kaon’s horrible crimes.

All in all, an extremely sad tale.

That’s the public school system for you. And nothing’s changed at Canberra High – there was at least one bullying-related suicide there last year. A girl in Year11. If there wasn’t such a conspiracy of silence on suicide, Canberra High might actually be forced to do something about their dysfunctional approach to discipline.

It is indeed. I once witnessed a thoroughbred mare bleed to death in Queensland after a vet attempted a (clearly risky) surgery technique that involved putting a surgical knife through the mare’s vaginal wall to reach whatever was being operated on. Bleed? Gushed.

I worked with him about 7 or 8 years ago. He always seemed a bit creepy but wow!! Crazy!!

In amongst all the detail of what he did, the thing that stands out to me is that after ‘apologising’ he pulled her arm around him and went to sleep, almost as if what had happened was a fairly unremarkable occurrence, or was normal sex. God knows how long that night was for her. I think he got off lightly; and surely what he did with the knife could constitute attempted murder as well? It’s pure luck that she didn’t bleed to death while he was sleeping.

If what you are saying is that she could have got away when he “fell asleep”, what nonsense. She was clearly focused on staying alive. How about demonstrating some empathy and understanding for the full horror of what she experienced, rather than creepy trolling. Finally a sentence that is commensurate with the appalling depraved acts performed by this callous sadistic animal. Unfortunately the average prison sentence that convicted killers in this country receive is approx 13 years which leads me to the conclusion that life is cheap!

While I don’t disagree with what you say, I think at some point we have to accept a person may be bad because they’re bad and not just because they had a crappy upbringing. I don’t know if that’s the case here, but (from the reading of the linked judgement) this guy seems to have sociopathic traits and maybe he was always going to wind up doing the sort of stuff he’s done.

Regardless, he deserves his sentence.

I am not saying he shouldn’t be locked up for a long time for this, but is is a pretty good example of why society should make sure children are not kept of off school and raise by parents who sexually abuse there daughters over many years.
