News.com.au has a link to a breaking story:

Brief run down:

– 50 year male and 41 year old women arrested,

– were in a car when nabbed by the cops,

– police seized about nineteen grand cash and 2 ounces of ice.

Nice one boys.

Just to note, it wasn’t an ex-partner of mine nor my kids, but children I do care about. So is was a ruling that affected me personally. Thought I would declare my bias upfront.

There is a story on the Canberra Times Website

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/woman-faces-court-over-violent-armed-robbery/1326599.aspx

with some comments about the Magistrate’s courts light sentaces.

From personal experience I learned that the Magistrate’s Court and the Family Court have no idea about “Ice”. In court FM Brewster reffered to someone injecting ice being like “Speed that truck drivers would consume” and the effect would be “like having a couple of beers”. FM Brewster didn’t think a man injecting ice was a danger to children as long as he wasn’t driving.

I am hopeful that eventually the courts will get up to “speed” about how dangerous Ice is and how common that people who are addict will reoffend and need custodial sentances.

LOL

Yesterday, on Majura Road, there were a lot of black plain cop cars with red and blue lights hidden (going off), who’d bailed up a car (or cars) and were going through bags and things. I wonder if it was related to this?
