The Mully Cup for February 2013 goes to the baffling Bumblebee

Another month another Mully Cup winner. The Mully Cup is awarded monthly to the entity stimulating the most comment on this website. It is named in memory (if not in honour) of Justin Mully Williams who both improved our world, and set the record for comments, in his departure.

This month we have decided to award this trophy to that mysterious Bumblebee! Named for his regular motions but erratic movements, this covert crapper has inspired not one, but two magnificent articles and comment threads.

Thank you, Bumblebee, you perplexing pooper you! You and your mysterious meadow muffins have made RiotACT a much more amusing place over this last week.

+1

Excessive judicial discretion is where the ACT’s criminal justice system has gone wrong, so I predict the Mully Cup will soon be subject to the same derision.

Do cycle threads have some sort of handicap?

They have to. Otherwise some form of anti-cycling thread (let alone a summation of all the anti-cycling threads in each month!) would win every time…
It’s better this way!

Indeed – though the though of those meaty-calved, spindly-armed, cranky roidy cyclists getting the Mully of all gongs would have been a beautiful and fearful asymmetry …

I think so. Not that it’s terribly important, but this sentence needs an update:

“…to the entity stimulating the most comment on this website…”

Because it’s not always the “most” commented discussion that gets the gong, which is fine, in fact it’s probably better and more fun to open it to a more judgmental approach.

The cycling threads are just the same tired material rehashed every time anyway.

“Cyclists can ride where they want”
“I’m a motorist out of my way”
“I saw a cyclist do something stupid”
“I saw a motorist do something stupid”
“I’m a pedestrian, a cyclist rode by without dinging their bell”
“Damn pedestrians on my cycle path””
“Damn cyclists on my roads”

It’s true, the mully judging panel prizes novelty, and takes a dim view of efforts to inflate the comment total to sway it.

I agree entirely.

Really, no other story stood a chance.

Please tell me those small brown stains were already on the Mully.
