In June 2013 I’m starting a poetry reading/talking about/writing/sharing group at the really cool cafe ” A Bite to Eat” in Chifley.

As the cafe poet I’m there every Tuesday from 12.00 to 2pm. If you’re a poetry lover, come and see me there or if you’d like to join a new group, you can contact me at glendanaughten@yahoo.com.au

Resident cafe poets, hey?
Hmmm, Poetix could get a casual gig with this new trend! 🙂

There are currently five Australian Poetry cafe poets listed in the ACT, although I’m not sure if this list is totally up to date:

They get free coffee from the cafes involved.

I do like the freedom of moving around, though, On the Road style (-: (Or at least within 2 square kilometres of the inner north.)

Good luck to Glenda with her new group.

Well there you go! And all along I thought it was only bars that had resident poets! Haha!

No, sadly no pay. I,m there to promote love of poetry. But I write poetry for a fee, for you to give to someone as a very personal and unique gift. I interview you about the person and then go from there.

A Bite to Eat is still my favourite cafe. A great place to hang out with a generous pot of tea. Was so pleased to find a cafe poet there today. Poetry on the tables like menus. Count me in for the poetry group.

I heard that A Bite to Eat had gone off since it changed hands. If it is true it is a real shame; they used serve the best chips in all the land.

Does being the cafe poet mean you are paid to be there?
