ACT Policing is investigating the theft of a large amount of copper from a construction site in Reid last weekend (Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 January).
Police attended the building site on Constitution Avenue yesterday (Monday, 24 January), in relation to the theft of 120 lineal metres of copper roof trimming.
The estimated value of the stolen copper is $33,000.
It is believed the theft would have required some planning and would have taken more than one person several hours to complete the removal.
This is the third theft of copper from this construction site in three months.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen any suspicious behaviour over the weekend around the construction site, or may be able to assist police with their investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be provided anonymously.
