The Canberra Model Railway Expo 2012 is on this week at Kaleen High and they’ve shared with YouTube a look at the festivities.

They all seem to be having a grand time.

If you like that sort of thing, then check out this place… Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg… the world’s largest model railway – developed by a couple of old German 90’s rave djs/nightclub operators that made a squillion. Bet they sat back one Sunday after a massive weekend and dreamt it up!

I visited this recently and took plenty of photos.. the scale of it is pretty mind blowing, but I think it’s just a little too much.

After about an hour and a half there I started getting the nauseating feeling you get when you’re trapped in IKEA trying to find an exit from the relentless ‘sameness’.

That’s cool.

Reminds me of the episode on James May’s Toy Stories where they built a giant scale model between Barnstaple and Bideford.

Big smiles about the video…. My father took my beautiful daughters out for a morning to see the trains. This video was designed to show Mrs GP and myself about their morning out… They had a great time, but couldn’t finish the burger and chips served for lunch (faster than Brodburger).

The girls are most happy to see themselves ‘on the news’. 🙂
