A parking omnibus

The parking pictures have been flooding in as Canberrans take up the challenge of educating the selfish and lazy that crappy parking will see them ridiculed.

So here’s a whole swag of badly parked cars.

florey parking

She who must not be named has sent this one in:

Seen this evening in Dendy Place, Florey while walking the dog… yes, it’s a cul-de-sac, but that’s no excuse for parking in what is close to the middle of the street. Car also seemed to have been there for a little while – not ticking or cooling down.

taxi parking

Golden-Alpine gave us this:

Even professional taxi drivers can fail at parking

Seen at Gungahlin Lakes Club.

parking belco style

Belconnen has many gifts to give and P1 has sent us this:

Photo taken last Friday, Ute had been parked for a few days in this spot, which is a popular place to leave cars out with for sale signs.

Thursday night it was chocked under the rear diff with a big chunk of wood (log), and the rear wheels are gone. That corner is well lit with streetlights, and gets reasonable amount of traffic throughout the night.

dickson parking

PantsMan made sure the Inner North got a look in via Dickson:

Parking ACT Government style

A “Let them eat cake” effort from ACT GovCo.

bad parking

Darko on the other hand feels bad parking that is anything less than a crime against humanity should not be remarked on. He sent this one in from the middle of the year as a demonstration of remarkably poor parking.

This park has to be the all time bad parking manoeuvres..

Keep them coming in to images@the-riotact.com .

Lol, Lol Lol I LOVE this thread and relate wholeheartedly with the annoyance we all share when someone hogs an adjoining carpark!

and the taxi? is there a line under it [very much not noticable, esp compared to lines around it] or is this a wide spot?

Those are all horrible except the taxi one looks like it’s just in a massive spot with no lines…

there are a bunch of circles in a line exactly midway between the two painted on lines, that indicate a series of white “cat’s eye” type markers that are used to demarcate parking spots. They’ve been removed and the holes filled, sure, but a bit of common sense and a moment’s consideration would have been enough for most people to avoid parking across two spaces.

One day I’m going to get next to a people of walmart email, a parking in Canberra email!

> This park has to be the all time bad parking manoeuvres..

That red Golf is almost certainly a parking break problem. Rolled down the incline from a parking space across the road.

Those are all horrible except the taxi one looks like it’s just in a massive spot with no lines and the ute probably broke down and he managed to push it out of everyone’s way. Probably can’t afford a tow+getting it fixed right now

I think we need to have a vote for bad park of the year. plenty of nominations!

Just to shame them further, you can now genuinly say dogs drive better: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7-57558360-48/cats-beware-dogs-can-drive/

Nothing professional re the standard of taxi drivers these days unlike 20 years ago in my day!

Damn right.

Whippersnappers.

i think the vehicle inspector’s parking isn’t so bad – one assumes they have authority to park in a loading zone? probably parked behind another vehicle now moved on. one sees this there quite often. and the taxi? is there a line under it [very much not noticable, esp compared to lines around it] or is this a wide spot?

but i love the last one – true parking fail genius!

The horror! The horror!

Can’t see the bus.

Nothing professional re the standard of taxi drivers these days unlike 20 years ago in my day!

At this rate you’ll have enough for a spin off website entirely dedicated to theses.

I think the tag will suffice
