The War Memorial has announced that Peter Jackson (yes that one) and Wingnut Films will be producing the upcoming “Over the Front: the Great War in the air” exhibition planned for Anzac Hall.

“The Multimedia display will be a vital element in the exhibition space, and will be used to help visitors experience the risks, action and drama of First World War aerial battles.

Presented on a large screen 21m x 3.5m (6:1 aspect ratio), the 10 minute sound and light show will be screened each hour, and features filming of replica aircraft in flight and extensive use of computer graphics to add drama. Visual Effects for the film are to be completed by award-winning effects house, Weta Digital.

Colour me excited.

I wonder if this will be using the red Camera he used for something similar about the Great Wall. IF so it will be worth going for the film-geek aspects anyway.

This will definitely be worth seeing.

It’s good to see the AWM are finally getting their historic WWI aircraft back on display too.
