ACT Community Services are calling for nominations to the Children and Young People Death Review Committee.
The Children and Young People Death Review Committee has the following functions:
— Keep a register of deaths of children and young people;
— Identify patterns and trends in relation to the deaths of children and young people;
— Undertake research that aims to prevent or reduce the likelihood of child deaths;
— Identify areas requiring additional research that arise from the identified patters and trends in relation to child deaths;
— Make recommendations about legislation, policies, practices and services for implementation by the Territory and non-government bodies to help prevent or reduce the likelihood of child deaths;
— Monitor the implementation of the committee’s recommendations;
— Report to the Minister (currently Minister for Community Services) under Part 19A.4; and
— Any other function given to the committee under this chapter
It pays $610 per day and nominations are open until 29 July.
