Royal fire in a pot

A Buckingham Place garage burned down early on Tuesday morning and police suspect the fire was caused by a hydroponic cannabis set-up.

The fire brigade was called to the Amaroo house (see, it is in Canberra after all) at 4.30am and, after putting the fire out, discovered an “elaborate hydroponic set-up”.

Police were called and 20 mature plants were discovered.

The hydroponic operation was allegedly being powered by diverting a nearby electricity line, which could possibly be what caused the fire.

ED – Ssanta sent in the following as a story:

Amaroo wins shallow end of gene pool award.

The geniuses responsible for the intellectual behemoth that is the Daily Telegraph are reporting here that the cause for a potential house fire this morning was dodgy cabling for a hydro set-up.

It is people like you that give smoking bongs such a bad name. Pat yourself on the back then crawl back under the rock you came from you dimwitted Mark Latham diary reading weirdo.

Hope the coppers tear you a new one.

Not really JB, I find Solar power is quite easy and efficient and it keeps you off the grids radar…

Is Ssanta jealous he never thought of stealing the power for his own hydro?

Aw don’t tell me that Spectra! Buckingham Place is sooo much more interesting and poetic…

And colsim, that was intentional.

Ahhh – I read that as Buckingham Palace in the Bloglines summary – wasn’t really sure what the connection was but was trying to work out some kind of Harry Pothead gag. Alas, just Amaroo smokers.

Har – I rode past that on my way into work this morning (and it’s Buckingham Street, not Place, thank you AFP), and wondered what on earth was going on. I could smell that there had been a fire (yes, that was all I could smell) – little did I suspect the details.
