A toilet looking suspiciously like public art

From our lofty eyrie we’ve been wondering what’s going on with the newishly installed Exeloo Titan in the bus interchange.

Territory and Municipal Services keep making apologetic noises about not being able to get back to us on what they’re doing and yet no answer arrives.

This morning it looks a lot like public art:

public art

I’m sure someone will have something funny to say.

UPDATE 09/08/12 09:49: TAMS have now replied:

The advice I have been given by Economic Development Directorate is that the works on the toilet block are the installation of stainless steel artwork panel. The second interchange toilet to the north of the photo, on the corner of Mort and Rudd Streets, had its cladding installed last week.

The works should be finished by the weekend with the toilet operating again by early next week.

ACT GovCo’s public art rollout looking increasingly like Hitler’s invasion of the Rhineland me thinks.

I thought all public artworks were toilets? Must stop pissing on them then..

Well that’s one way of avoiding getting booked for parking in the interchange!

If one were drunk one could suspect that one could merely uninate on the outside of the said block.

Maybe it’s to shield the facility from just such attention?
