A use found for the 2013 Canberra Yellow Pages!

yellow pages

With the 2011 Yellow Pages propping my third monitor up acceptably I had wondered what purpose the 2013 edition could serve.

Fortunately at a Dickson apartment complex I saw the package made a very handy door stop.

It does make one weep for the businesses who have paid vast rivers of gold to be included.

We’d certainly like to help them with more effective ways to spend their money.

I use it to bring the monitor to the correct height !

Whether you get one delivered or not seems to be a random event. Some blocks in our apartment complex got piles of them dumped outside their entry door while others didn’t get any. Mind you our re-cycle bins get overloaded with the latest edition anyway. What a huge waste. Do you know anyone who still uses the printed version? (and I am 72 years old).

Like deye above, I’d used that link to cancel delivery of a directory ages ago, but still got the printed edition dropped off.

This is what I did with last years’:

Interestingly the Inlaws are complaining they don’t get one delivered anymore.

I found a use for the car sized Yellow Pages. It has a handy full edition of the current UBD street directory. I still use a printed directory sometimes, rather than the phone / GPS.

My friend says she likes the car one because she can use it as a restaurant guide when her and the hubby are out. Saves waiting on slow phone connections for ideas.

It’s a pain when you register not to receive one, but still end up getting sent one anyway. Off to the recycling it will go.
