A very Canberra coup - Stefaniak takes over as Liberal leader

Following on from the news of a challenge to Brendan Smyth’s tenure as Liberal Leader in the ACT we can now report that Bill Stefaniak has succeeded in rolling him.

The Liberals have put up a slew of media releases.

● NEW LIBERAL LEADER TO SET PARTY ON COURSE TOWARDS VICTORY by one Stefaniak, B.
● ACT LIBERAL OPPOSITION LEADERSHIP CHANGES – STATEMENT OF PARTY WHIP by one Dunne, V.
● STEFANIAK WELCOMED AS NEW LIBERAL LEADER by someone called “Canberra Liberals”.
● MULCAHY PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR STEFANIAK AS NEW LEADER by one Mulcahy, R.

Bill is certainly up there now.
Nothing from Smyth yet. I suppose, what more can he say? I’d be interested to see if he intends to remain a) on the front bench and b) in the LA at all.

it’d be fascinating to know how long Andrew Wilsmore has been getting the site ready.

Really? I still get Smyth’s head and howard’s head at the top of my browser.

They sure changed the picture on the liberals website fast.
