And yet they continue to be the top rating talk station in Canberra. The ABC should either play commercials or not be in the commercial radio ratings.
The community stations aren’t in the commercial ratings, so why should the ABC be?

Anyways, there is only one show on 666 that I can listen to for any length of time, and that is “Sunday with Macca” or whatever it’s called.

Getting back to the original discussion… 666 ABC has gone to the dogs! Andrea and Ross are as bad as Mark Parton – and that’s saying something! Bah! So many people have complained on the ABC online guestbook, but no one there seems to care much…

What makes me hate them most is the way they play the whole sodding intro of Joy Division’s “Love will tear us apart” and the don’t play the sodding song.

Hard to describe the rage it builds in me.

Oh, I really HATE Kochy! You know that kind of hate that surprises everyone by it’s ferocity when it shows itself? The kind usually reserved for country music, Manly supporters and Kasey Chambers. Yeah, that’s the hate I feel for that tool David Koch.

The two on the other channel are known in the business, and possibly unkindly, as “Karl & his Mum”.
I prefer “Trace and her bub”.

We are forgetting to bag one aspect of morning entertainment – Television……. Kochy and Mel – terrible, whoever the other nameless twits on the other channel – woeful… about the only thing that entertains me with morning tv is German news on SBS purely because I can’t understand a word they are saying and that makes for a good wakeup call trying to guess what they are on about.

I made the switch to radio national and haven’t looked back…..yet

0800 ? what is this, Army o clock ?

for those who listen to 104.7 it’s ‘Oh eight hundred on the FM station with mooorrrreeee’

for those who listen to JJJ it’s ‘what time is it maaan ? wow those drugs were hot’

for those who listen to ABC it’s ‘8oclock in the morning on a crisp winter morning, the temprature will be 0-15 degrees today’

Can’t stand those 20 something twits on 104.7 in the mornings either.

I’m tired of waking up shitty to 104.7’s dumb-ass morning crew. On the flip side, it does motivate me to get the hell out of bed and away from the sound of those f*cktards.

Due to my general mean state in the mornings I’ll stay away from radio; which is why I occasionally miss things in the news (d’oh!), but I would rather be ill-informed and corrected in open forum than run the risk of stomping on someones face before I make it to work…

I’m talking about the ‘grand prix de pube’ in the morning. The only thing worse than driving in that maelstrom of inconsideration and stupidity would be listening to the radio at the same time.

CD’s for me too. It’s safer that way.

When you’re really through with all the talk in the mornings, go to ABC Classic FM. What you’ll find is…
more talk.

bloodnut, I’ve had no end of people twisting my words in the last few days, I just had to vent my fury and you were unfortunately in thw wrong place at the wrong time, sorry bud.
Anyways, my only fine 666 input ever was when Rod Quinn was doing afternoons and they were talking about events that happened on the same day that we were born, I had was sick and at home, but it helped me get through the day.

My input is almost always on 2CC (Some people may have heard me this morning after the 8am news…but that’s a different story).

That is enough of my opinion on this subject for at least 24 hours.

98.3 is the bomb.

They are JJJ done right.

I haven’t been able to stomach much JJj since they chocked the playlist full of rap.

CD’s only for me in the morning.

SMH in the morning for me or some blistering hard rock…. ads bug me, tabloids tickle my anger bone and the frenzal rhomb guys on JJJ in the morning are irritating

Speaking of opinionated radio announcers, Mark Parton on MIX really gets up my nose. He needs to shut up and keep churning out that 80s music.

My mornings are sacred and reserved for my own witless reparte.

ah – sorry to offend your sensibilities sammy- I just like to wait for my brain to become less mushy before throwing it in the deep end. That’s why I read the telegraph in the AM. It’s like stretching before exercise.

I have always wondered who calls radio stations. On the way home from work I usually listen to the midnight quiz on 666 and I always assumed they were Zemanek style dummy callers.

Maybe I’ve been unwittingly listening to your fine 666 input;)

Oops. I meant to say “between HF, VHF and UHF on a TV”. Whe I get a head of steam up, there’s no stopping to check what I wrote.

Ever since ABC News Radio went to the FM band (103.9) I haven’t really been listening to 666. I used to flick between them when they were both on the AM band, but now changing between AM and FM is too much trouble for too little payoff.

When are radio manufacturers going to realise that having to change between AM and FM on a radio is like having to change between HF, VHF and VHF on a TV? This isn’t the 70’s anymore. For fuck’s sake.

I’m going to have a lie down.

Well then you shouldn’t be visiting this site in the morning bloodnut…”full of other peoples opinions.”

Apart from the fact that Mike has a good mix of local, national, international & slightly offbeat stories, having the radio on helps me took keep on schedule, it provides a kind of audio/mental clock. Plus when I have some spare time I like to ring him.

Whoops, there goes another persons opinion bloodnut

I try not to listen to the radio in the morning – gets my day off to a bad start – full of other peoples opinions.

Always thought AM radio listners were cranks.
