The ABC reports that the Bureau of Statistics has lost its appeal at the Industrial Relations Commission which would have let it sack staff no longer needed.
- Nadine Flood from the Community and Public Sector Union says staff are delighted with the outcome.
“I think staff and ABS are really pleased that the commission has up-held – for a second time – the decision that was made was unfair and that if you do need to make job reductions there’s a proper way of doing that that respects employees rights,” she said.
