ABC News site gets a facelift

The ABC News site appears to have had a recent facelift:

The Canberra (ACT) news page can now be found here:

Lots of new goodness including audio, video, a new “tag cloud” feature and the ability to bookmark articles of interest “Très Web deux!

I expect this is the result of the newsroom editors finally getting control of their own websites instead of everything being run from up in Brisbane.

Finally, an update. ABC always has the best news service online, but in terms of looks, it trailed behind News.com.au and The Australian. Please to see the facelift doesn’t include the advertising they were at one point considering.

And they finally have an RSS feed for the ACT news. Previously they only had a feed for the overall news. The feed shows up in Google Reader as untitled, and it doesn’t seem to show everything the web page does, so it’s obviously still a little buggy, but it’s a good start.
