Accused child abductors found in Queensland

There are two stories on ABC online (here and here) about 3 Canberrans arrested in Queensland for child abduction. They allegedly took a two year old girl and an eight month old boy from a child care centre in Kambah.

As someone with a two year old boy and a 10 month old boy in child care, this story sent shivers down my spine. I wonder what their connection is with the kids (can’t seem to find any more details) and how they managed to ‘take’ the kids from the centre? I have to declare in writing who is authorised to take my kids and they have to show ID if anyone other than mum or dad comes to collect the kids. I would assume all child care centres have a similar policy.

jemmy, you could say she was being a ‘good mother’ but you could also argue that had she been a good mother in the first place care and protection wouldn’t have taken the kids under a care order.

What worries me, if the story is correct, is that they went into a childcare facility i.e. no child over 5yo, brandishing a knife.

There is no excuse for that.

mother of the children and her sister who collected the kids at knifepoint from a child care centre
Perhaps it shows a mother who was so desperate to get her kids back she would do anything. You could argue that shows her as a pretty good, protective mother.

What they said ^^^^^^^. Verified by 666 news.

It was the white trash mother of the children and her sister who collected the kids at knifepoint from a child care centre and fled town.

Family services had taken the kids off the woman with care orders.

It was the kids folks. DOCS or the equivalent here had Care orders in place and they were fostered out.
