Opposition leader Bill Stefaniak thinks the ACT Government’s budget is too tax-heavy and Greens MLA Deb Foskey says it doesn’t have enough funding for the environment and housing.

The ABC reports the Liberals and Greens gave their budget reply speeches today, and both roundly criticised the Government.

Mr Stefaniak described the outlined school closures as “wholesale destruction” and said “it is a Budget that bludgeons the whole community”.

“It is in fact a desperate Budget, brought down by a desperate Government,” he said.

Dr Foskey said the Government’s approach is “high-handed and imperious” and that it needs to learn to listen properly to the community.

UPDATED The Greens now have a plethora of press releases on the budget on their site, as do the Liberals.

She’s probably only looking at Narrabundah caravan park for some new digs, cause she got kicked out of the old place for overstaying her welcome.

Unfortunately, for the entire ACT Greens party, her behaviour has made anything she says immediately discountable.

The fact Roland et al have tried to cover up the entire situation makes the greens sound more like the McGillicutty Serious Party than a viable alternative government.

**Disclaimer**
I would actually vote for the McGillicutty party.

She did listen though. And she did have a philosophiczl argument for her behaviour, even if we didn’t agree.
And for most of the time she was in that house she qualified for it, it was only since she became a well paid MLA that it seemed wrong.
Deb has moved, and it is time to move on. Someone has to keep an eye on the current govt, and she is at least trying to do that – eg Narrabundah caravan park etc.

foskey, the bludger of my tax dollars for many years whilst in public housing, is simply pathetic.

The whole 06 budget is pathetic, brought down by out of control cowboys. Except for the boosted funding for Canberra Hospital.

Dr Foskey said the Government’s approach is “high-handed and imperious” and that it needs to learn to listen properly to the community.

It took Foskey quite some time to learn to listen to the community regarding her shameless spongeing on public housing.
