The ABC has a story on shifting ground in the pay dispute between the ACT Government and its public service.
The Government is now offering a 2.5 per cent wage increase from July 1 as part of a one year agreement.
It is also offering a sign-on bonus of $650 for eligible employees.
Apparently the union thinks this is agreeable.
UPDATE: A chiefly media release on the new offer is now online:
“This offer is subject to the unions and other bargaining representatives agreeing to:
1) Withdraw all current claims with a net financial cost;
2) Not make any new claims with a net financial cost to the ACT Public Service;
3) Accept any recommendations by Fair Work Australia in regard to the adoption of the Government’s employment harmonisation proposals; and
4) Not pursue any course of industrial action.”
