The February 2009 Belconnen Community Council Forum will be held at:

7.30pm, Tuesday 17 February 2009

Community Room above the Chandler Street Belconnen Library

ACTEW representatives will be available to discuss Canberra’s long-term water security and the enhancement of the Cotter Dam as well as the costs and benefits to residents of the installation of household rainwater tanks and greywater systems. This last matter promises to be a lively and informative debate.

In addition, the new Arts and Cultural Development Officer for Belconnen, Simone Penkethman will introduce herself and speak about ‘in2CHANGE’: an inclusive Community Arts Project that will celebrate the decommissioning of the Belconnen Bus Interchange in April 2009.

AG: what we should have is the same setup used at Palo Verde.

No potable water needed. No ongoing emissions. Only question is if we’d have enough sewerage to meet all the cooling needs. I’m convinced we can up the ante and keep the crap flowing.

If anyone goes – ask them how much water the power station out at Williamsdale is going to use….

Because if I keep seeing things that use water being developed (prison ovals, powerstations etc) when we are still being told not to use water then I’m going to go postal!

You mean to say ACTEW have given up on telling us how good it will be for us in the long term to be drinking our own recycled piss and sh!t with the waste water facility they are building?

Oh I forgot… that is a done deal already.
