The Australian today reports that ACT ALP members Bob McMullan, Annette Ellis and Kate Lundy may be challenged for pre-selection. This follows on the cleansing in Victoria of some of their old party hacks.

The local rumour mill is saying that Ellis may retire anyway while Nero Stanhope himself is eyeing McMullan’s seat. Local leftie George Wasson (Lundy’s former partner) is also eyeing off Fraser. The talk is that there could be a spill of all positions.

Should be a fun year for local Labor.

insider111, The CFMEU wouldn’t need to sacrifice Lundy to the Right to take McMullan’s preselection from him. The left could easily take Fraser for one of it’s candidates if so inclined with no need to deal with Unity or the Corn Chips.

Another reason not to vote Labor: even the members don’t know what’s going on.

insider111, you are completely full of shit. I’m guessing you must be involved with “the centre coalition” (what one of the right factions in this town calls themselves) as you’ve slandered everyone else.

Some senior ACT Labor people are very concerned about Lundy’s migrant worker claims – talk is the LHMWU believes their delegates stuffed up big time.

more crao, heck you can’t even get the name of the union right, shows just how much of an “insider” you are.

Who met at the Labor Club? What a pile of tosh.

McMullan will win a rank and file preselection as will Annette Ellis. Both still have alot to offer and have shown no indication of wanting to ride off into the sunset.

Stanhope was denying the rumours today, saying he’s too old now to make the switch to Federal politics. Age didn’t stop Turnbull though.

The ALP *needs* Bob – in the event they win government, he’s one of only a handful of sitting Labor MPs and Senators with ministerial experience.

CFMEU and SDA people met at the Labor club a couple of weeks ago to discuss pre-selection. They’re working on a deal that will see McMullan dumped in favour of Wason with Lundy ditched in favour of someone from the Right.
