Andrew Barr has proudly announced that Canberra’s schools have picked up $140 million in stage two of the Primary Schools for the 21st Century program (more memorably referred to as P21).

Sixty seven schools across the ACT will receive funding to build major infrastructure such as new libraries, multi-purpose halls, classrooms, assembly halls and performing arts centres.

Kaleen Primary School has been provided $3 million for the construction of a new multi-purpose hall.

I was however intrigued by this line:

Our investments combined with those of the Rudd Government will see over half a billion dollars invested in every ACT student in every ACT school.

Maybe more efficient to give every student the half billion, surely that would set them up well enough for life?

OK I jest, I think it means that all the extra money being splashed on all the schools adds up to the ballpark of $500 million.
