Acting Justice of the ACT Supreme Court Linda Ashford died suddenly in Sydney on Friday evening (19 June).

Acting Justice Ashford was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2014 after retiring as a judge of the District Court of NSW the year before.

She had also sat on the Workers Compensation Commission of NSW.

“She will be sadly missed by her colleagues and staff at the Supreme Court and by her many friends in the broader judiciary,” ACT Chief Justice Helen Murrell said.

“Her Honour was an industrious, compassionate and stylish judge who took great interest in all whom she encountered.”

More to come.
