This is from the CT but I cannot find an online version yet, but there was a story towards the back about ACTEW raising water costs from 1 July 05. Now you might think they’d raise the price of water becuase we’re in a drought and have ongoing water restrictions, so it would be a good way to incentivise people to save water, but no.
ACTEW are raising the price of water becuase everyone has been using less water and therefore they aren’t getting paid as much. So they are doing it to maintain their profit margin, which while smart just seems like the wrong reason to do it to me.
