Our power and water overlords advise the long awaited and rather important Murrumbidgee to Googong Water Transfer pipe is about to be laid.

Delivery of pipes for the Murrumbidgee to Googong Water Transfer will begin on Friday 20 May 2011 resulting in increased heavy vehicle traffic on Monaro Highway, Williamsdale Road and Angle Crossing Road.

Some slight delays to local traffic may be expected and ACTEW asks for drivers to exercise patience and caution and to contact ACTEW’s water security information line on 6248 3563 with any questions or concerns.

The first delivery will consist of four semi-trailer trucks, each carrying eight 6 metre long pipes. Following this, there will be five to six trucks per day delivering pipes from Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm for approximately three months. A total of 12,000 metres of pipe will be delivered to various laydown areas along the construction corridor.

oh yawn, they make a public announcement to say they have 5-6 trucks a day on the road.
Oh my, how will we cope with such grandstanding.
