We recently released an update to the mobile application “MyBus 2.0” such that it now includes all “300” routes, updated outdated time-changes and accessibilty information for routes with disability services, and a news feed which links to the ACTION website for (relatively) up to date information.

While we are still on the tail of the TAMS for data pertaining to buses, we are planning a complete overhaul of the application to encorporate more features and the work of other canberrans who have tried to obtain data manually.

Long story short, download the app, check out our site at http://my-bus.com.au, and please, offer suggestions/comments if you have any!

Regards,

-Imagine Team

It’s also still not clear to me whether Mybus only has weekday routes and times? Or is it all of them and the ones displayed are for the current day? I think a while back I had trouble trying to look up what time I would need to catch a bus on Monday morning because I was doing it on a weekend?

Weekend bus routes are all 900 numbers. I have loaded MyBus and it does include both Weekday and Weekend routes.

I like the app and use it regularly but not frequently, on the Android platform.

Because it’s only useful IF you know the route number for the area you wish to travel, I have also downloaded the ACTION bus map to my phone as a PDF. If I need to travel to an unfamiliar area I can look up the relevant route numbers and stop locations on the map, then use Mybus to get times.

Another feature that would be useful would be a “reverse trip” button once you get to bus times, instead of having to go four screens back and change the travel direction, then re-specify your stops.

No support for Symbian, no support for 60% of the Smartphone market.

Given that ‘Symbian Smartphone’ is an oxymoron I am not surprised.

Also not sure where you got the 60% figure from given symbian only accounted for 31% of the smartphone market Q4 2010 and that number would be lower now since most manufacturuers have abandoned it in favour of Android.

I think its good to see someone not catering to the iOS market exclusively, then making a last minute port to Android. iOS is small, small pototoes compared to what Andriod will become.

I refuse to use ACTION, but keep up the good work.

“MyBus 2.0”?

…for real?

Can’t you call it something a little less awful?
Like the ACTION-app, or ImagineACTION… Or… or anything.

how about having the option to put in the suburb and your destination and have the app provide a list of buses that run that route.

Plus Symbian is deader than disco.

Judging by the number of iPhones I see in use on buses I think the app is squarely targeted. That being said, no reason the user scope can’t be wider.

I guess they’ve just gone and halved their potential market.

Oh wait…
