Mayor Rattenbury is letting us know of changes to the bus timetables:

“Based on data collected from the MyWay ticketing system, and feedback received from our bus drivers and customers over the past nine months, ACTION has made adjustments to the weekend timetable to improve the on-time running of buses,” Mr Rattenbury said. “The schedule has been reworked to more closely meet arrival and departure times.

“Bus punctuality is high on the agenda of passengers, so times have been reworked to help minimise any divergences from the scheduled time of departure and arrival for each stop.

“No changes have been made to bus routes. Further changes will be looked into during consultation on current and future bus services. This is expected to be undertaken later this year.”

Mr Rattenbury said the new weekend timetable can be picked up from the Belconnen and City MyWay Centres or the Woden and Tuggeranong Bus Stations.

“Additional services have also been scheduled into the weekday timetable to meet passenger demand, with 33 more trips to run across the week during peak periods,” Mr Rattenbury said.

From Monday 4 February 2013 the weekday timetable will include:

— three additional Route 10 services from Cook shops to the City
— one additional Route 200 service from Gungahlin to the City
— two additional Route 39 services from Watson to the City
— two additional Route 319 services from Woden to Lanyon
— one additional Route 19 service from Lanyon to Tuggeranong
— three additional Route 57 services from the City to Gungahlin
— one additional Route 57 service from Gungahlin to the City
— one additional Route 3 service from Belconnen to Woden
— 19 additional Route 300 services.

Shane promises Google Transit has been appropriately notified but time will tell on that one.

but yet nothing much has improved outbound to most of the suburbs in town…

If these tweaks resolve the incidences where the bus just doesnt arrive, then its a good thing.

The Google Transit Feed was updated on the 21 December 2012, with these changes (https://www.action.act.gov.au/googletransit/default.html).

The main weekend change is that Palmerston have a better Belconnen connection, with the 958 leaving 2 minutes after the 956 arrives in Gungahlin.

The additional 300 services will be a welcome addition if they’re being added to the morning/afternoon peak periods.
