The ACT Planning and Land Authority (ACTPLA) have announced that the new power station (and data centre) location in Hume has passed the first hurdle with conditional approval.
- “Conditions are attached to the approval such as the requirement for approvals from government entities including the Environment Protection Authority and the Department of Territory and Municipal Services before work can begin,” Mr Savery said.
“The application meets the requirements of the Territory Plan 2008 and the National Capital Plan Development Control Plan (DCP) for the site.
“Conditions also require that a detailed design for landscaping of the site be provided, which will then need to be submitted to ACTPLA and the National Capital Authority (in the case of designated land) for further assessment. This landscaping design was a requirement of the DCP and will need to meet relevant Australian Standards.”
