“Tsunami Aid”
Charity Benefit Show

Saturday May 26th
The Venue, Erindale

Canberra 5-piece Night Train is ready to rock Canberra once again after a 5 month hiatus from the live scene, and this time it’s for a great cause. Night Train spent late last year and into January 2007 playing for the RAMSI mission in the Solomon Islands, playing to all members of the Participating Police Force and Military.

During their time in the Solomon’s the band got to experience much of what the Islands had to offer, “To see an area with so much beauty and at the same time so much poverty and need for infrastructure, when the Tsunami hit, we knew we needed to do something to help” said front man David Bishop.

The band put out the call to The Venue @ Erindale and also to fellow artists, Little Smoke, Jester and Meatbee with the idea of doing a charity show to raise money for the UNICEF appeal in aid of the Solomon Islands. The Venue jumped on board and the massive in house PA and light show will get a real workout on the night.

“We can’t wait for this show, we’ve purposely taken the last 5 months off working on tracks for a new album, so not only will it be great to rock out in front of our home crowd again, but with the knowledge we are helping out the Solomon Island locals we met during our time there in an area that isn’t equipped to handle such disasters makes it even better” says Ben Schumann drummer for the band.

All proceeds from the show will go to the UNICEF Solomon’s Island Appeal to aid in the recovery and rebuilding of the Tsunami ravaged region.

The night will also see raffles of band merchandise and more to help raise even more money for the appeal and will feature over 4 hrs of some the best local music on offer, with 3 of the bands gaining across the board airplay on the capitals number 1 under 40’s radio station 104.7. The bands will all be featured on the stations Homegrown program and closer to the event, they’ll be featured on the number 1 rated drive show, this is certainly a show not to be missed, for more reasons than normal.

Tickets $13 inc booking fee @ The Venue Erindale.

Listen out tonight (Mon 20 May) from 10pm to Homegrown on 104.7 to hear Little Smoke & probably some of the other bands talk about this gig & have a track spun.

Bring it on. I am very much looking forward to it. Can’t wait to see the boys rock on again.
