A 41-year-old Ainslie woman was arrested by ACT Policing yesterday afternoon (Sunday, May 29) for drink driving after being detected with an alcohol content more than five times over the legal limit.
Around 3.30pm police intercepted a Mitsubishi Magna on Gooreen Street, Braddon, after the driver allegedly failed to stop at a red light on Limestone Avenue. The female driver underwent a roadside screening test which returned a positive result. She was taken to the City Police Station for a breath analysis.
The woman was found to have an Alcohol Content (AC) of 0.292 which is more than five times the 0.05 limit for a full licence holder. Due to the high level of alcohol in the woman’s body, her ACT driver’s licence was immediately suspended.
The woman will be summonsed to appear at the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
