Airport to Nowhere - Signage at Canberra Airport

Am I the only person who wonders how visitors to our illustrious city, or other people like me with no sense of direction, go on when they leave the airport?

It would appear that we can tell a cyclist (with their maginifying glass to hand!) how to find a few places, but no sign at all of which way Canberra or Queanbeyan is.

We can direct you to a servo, to fill the tank of your already full hire car, but not how to find the Nations Capital as you head out of it’s (Sydney’s second) airport! Ha Ha.

The flyover was finished (ok so we all know that the diffinition of “finished” in Canberra was broken a long time ago!) yet we still have temporary signs telling you how to get into the airport, and nothing for those leaving.

If this is your work Mr Snow, have a heart. If you want us to love you, you gotta love us back! And if it’s your’s Mr Stanhope, then you’re lucky as you have a driver who knows his way around. Not like a large proportion of the taxi drivers you have licenced, but hey I’m going off thread now.

OK now over to the rest of your Rioteers out there, let’s shout for some PROPER signs! so I don’t get lost again…… PLEASE

Can’t really go off thread in the original post. That is where you define what is on topic.

I often wonder just how much effort the airport must put into making their roads (and related signage/lack of signage) so convoluted.

There are plenty of signs, thank you.

Just because they lead you the wrong way means diddly.

<— you've been there now, surely you wont/cant get lost again!!
Pitchka – how often have you been there, they change the way around weekly, if not daily!.. and still no signs!

I heard that they were available for viewing at the ACT SHopfronts and a simple visit to any of the shopfront offices, followed by some form-filling and an interview, will let you see them. (Apologies to Douglas Adams).

No no, I think you’ll find they are on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying “beware of the leopard”.

Sunday 14th November

Doea anyone know when the Qantas terminal is opening, I’ve heard 12th November but looking at the site I doubt it.

They are probably waiting for the new terminal phase one entrances and exits to be finished.
