The following in from the ESA:

12:30pm Friday 28 May 2010 – Smell of gas at A.I.S pool at Bruce ACT Fire Brigade on scene at the A.I.S swimming pool on Leverrier Crescent, Bruce following a report of the smell of gas. Approx 50 people have been evacuated as a precaution.

Two ACT Fire Brigade pumpers on site with the Hazmat van. Update to follow.

UPDATE:

1:00pm Friday 28 May 2010 – Update on smell of gas ACT Fire Brigade carrying out ventilation and air monitoring of the area.

Crews wearing Breathing Apparautus equipment have not found the source of the leak and are continuing to search the area.

FURTHER UPDATE:

1:30pm Friday 28 May 2010 – Final update on smell of gas ACT Fire Brigade soon to depart the scene, area has been deemed safe. The source of the leak was not found.

The smell of gas at the pool? They didn’t put too much chlorine in, did they?

they’ve cleared off so must be all-clear!

been watching out my office across the road for an hour and still no wider internal email advice here on-site!!
