When not coming to us for news and amusement we realise many of you are scouring allhomes playing fantasy real estate (or real real estate for the better healed).

Today they’ve announced they’re putting up a revamped website over the weekend.

For those of you who don’t deal well with changed they’ve produced a handy guide.

I’m sure there’s a technical term for the ratio of the sidething to the length of page, or something like that, but I wish they’d fix it. It does not scroll smoothly.

Websites like craigslist and AllClassifieds work so well because they are light. This new dynamic pretty version of AllHomes is clunky and crap. I only have a 3G connection so waiting for stuff to load just makes everything longer to load

Mrs Busbooster and I were in the market for a new rental property a few weeks ago and recently settled on a nice place in Kingston. I was happy to take riotacters’ advice for a good removalist.

Anyway, cruising around the new allhomes website, I’ve noticed that agents have re-listed their rental properties with new prices, but in so doing, they appear as ‘new’ rental properties. Surely this seems like cheating? The old allhomes used to tell you for how long a property had been on the market, even if the price was reduced.

Maybe as part of the revamp all the agents got together to ask that nice Mr Blackshaw at allhomes.com.au to reset the clock whenever the price was reduced, so they didn’t all look so desperate in the current rental market?

Hi Busbooster. The ‘New Price’ category is a new feature of allhomes.com.au, and is applied to properties that have recently received a significant price drop (over 2.5%).

These listings are now labelled with ‘New Price’ for a 7 day period to alert users to the recent price reduction. However these properties definitely haven%u2019t been ‘re-listed’ and you’ll see that the listing age remains visible. Hope that clarifies things!

So there is a suburb called “Condor” is there allhomes?

The apostrophe-challenged “greengrocer’s” are now driving Beemers and selling lemons of a different sort.

Anyway, long may Canberra’s favourite (respectable) fantasy and sticky-beaking site live and prosper!

“better healed?” Another insadent!

Ah yes they’re all high flyers in ‘Condor’.
