A renowned pastelist, Amanda McLean has worked extensively in the Canberra region. Her recent focus has been landscapes and seascapes of southern NSW, and studies of Lake Burley Griffin. Her work very successfully captures the moods of the country and climate, while her capacity to portray the transition from water to sky creates a beautiful sense of space and light.

Amanda has written extensively for Australian Artist Magazine, participated as a judge at regional and state art competitions, taught workshops nationally & internationally and has offered pastel and drawing classes in Canberra and Murrumbateman for over 20 years. She was one of an elite group of Australian artists invited to enter into the 2014 Canberra 100 exhibition celebrating the capital’s centenary.

The Cork Street Café Gallery in Gundaroo (the old Police Station stables) provides a comfortable location to escape town for a while, and enjoy some of their great food while taking the opportunity to look at Amanda’s recent work.

Come along and join the artist for an informal get together & drinks between 3-5PM Saturday 15th August, or visit the Cork Street Café any time from now till 6th September.
