A 30-year-old Weston man has been arrested for burglary yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, September 27) in Waramanga.

About 4.40pm a Waramanga male resident saw a man acting suspiciously leaving a neighbours house on a bike with a backpack.

The neighbour approached the man and asked if he lived at the residence. The alleged offender replied no at which point the neighbour tried to prevent him from getting away and called the police.

A short time later, another male member of the public helped the neighbour restrain the alleged offender until police arrived.

Two residences in the area reported burglaries and stolen items matching the descriptions of those reported were found on the alleged offender.

The man was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House where he was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and one count of going equipped for burglary. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, September 28).

Yes, his brains. He really really is not fit to be a crim, or much else for that matter.

Thank goodness for watchful neighbours.

Similar situation when our house was broken into in Waramanga. Our neighbours id’d the kids and the police were able to track them to the local high school.

Something must be really wrong with people’s brains where they think it’s OK to steal other people’s stuff. Having a criminal record is going to completely stuff up any future you’d like to have. Imagine not being able to go on that Footy Trip to Fiji because you can’t get a passport.
