The ACT Excellence in Community Policing Awards are awarded annually to four ACT Policing members in recognition of outstanding policing and public engagement.
The awards, an initiative of SupportLink and ACT Policing, highlight the important of early intervention and the partnership between police and the social support sector.
“The awards highlight the unique ability of agencies and services within the ACT to work in collaboration with each other in the delivery of early intervention support. Early intervention is about working in partnership with community and government organisations and families to address issues before they escalate and become bigger problems,” said Mr Tony Campbell, administrator of the awards.
ACT Policing plays a major role in identifying persons who require early intervention support and in the past 12 months referred over 6,300 people.
