You wouldn’t run a public meeting without a moderator, but #actvcc on Twitter is the place to be to see everyone try and talk at the same time for an hour.

what the hell is that bashed by drunks stuff all about?????

eg this – ‘here’s a question.. how many accounts have govt blocked coz your a bunch of psychopathic passive peadophiles..’

Given the nut-baggery levels in the tweets, I suspect ‘bashed by drunks’ will be joing RA shortly.

Well the bus nuts seem to be particularly well organised.

Yes, we were. Simon Corbell never knew what hit him.

And despite some naysaying here, we did get some positive answers. Because of the rapid response forum there was a lot less spin or hedging than one might otherwise encounter.

And unlike the naysaying encountered here (RiotACT), there was no naysaying amongst the contibutors. It did remind me a little of shouting to be heard in a crowded pub – you were never sure that anyone could hear what you were saying. But it was gratifying when others RT’d your tweet or when someone added further thoughts to your idea.

My favourite moment was when Fake James Scullin said “The suburb named after me is a complete dump. Please name a nicer suburb after me.” Fake Paul Keating later declined to have it named in his honour.

Well I was glad to be on a day off so I could dive on in, invoking the “never let a chance go by” edict.

And despite some naysaying here, we did get some positive answers. Because of the rapid response forum there was a lot less spin or hedging than one might otherwise encounter.

And remember to compare this idea with the recent admissions from Jon Stanhope that he never looked at any social media, listened to local radio or even (gasp) read RiotACT.

I give it a B-, and A for initiative. Credit where it is due.

I thought it was well worth the experiment. Of course the signal to noise ratio was going to be out of whack, but good on GovCo for trying.

What a stupid idea.

What a total …. you can’t have a minister-cornering conversation in batches of 140 characters.

I guess that’s what makes it so attractive to them – they’ll never have to face up to the great unwashed masses again.

Johnboy, don’t say you weren’t consulted!

Well that was a triumph of bromides, palm offs, ignoring hard questions, and blow hards inflating their own egos.

So I imagine it will be declared a great success and repeated.

Every griefer in Canberra typing at once.

Still, it means no one else has to talk to them for this hour, talk about a community service!

Lots of whinging and various crapola…

Lots of grievances…. not much in the way of replies…

Well the bus nuts seem to be particularly well organised.
