Chief Minister Gallagher has announced that her chief mandarin has hung up his ruby pinned hat and will head off to the glories of the NSW Public Service:

Chief Minister Katy Gallagher has today congratulated Director-General of Chief Minister and Treasury Directorate Andrew Cappie-Wood on his new appointment as Director General of the NSW Attorney-General and Justice Department.

Mr Cappie-Wood was appointed as head of Chief Ministers Department in 2007 serving in that role until 2011 when he was appointed as the Head of Service and Director-General of the Chief Minister and Treasury Directorate, implementing the new ACT public service structure.

“I wish Mr Cappie-Wood all the best in his new role. He has served the ACT community very well over the past 6 years as the consummate public service leader. His loyalty and dedication to delivering high quality and responsive public services to the people of the ACT is well known across Canberra,” the Chief Minister said.

“I would particularly like to acknowledge the work he has overseen implementing the one government structure along with new initiatives to ensure the efficient administration of the ACT public service.

Is that the last pin of the Stanhopian power structure gone?

An interim replacement and recruitment plan are all still to be announced.

I’m sure NSW pays far more than the ACT; doesnt this show we had a good person in the role for several years and he is being poached for something that is, at the least, higher paying (if not more prestigious or challenging)

Katy’s “government” has looked increasingly chaotic in the last few weeks. The gay marriage suicide incursion across the lake or the charity BBQ ban/fine/permit system might have been the last straw?

Maybe put Megan Smithies (Capitan of the Good Ship Commerce & Works) in to steady the boat?

If the ship was the titanic maybe..

Her current position is pretty much a demotion from the previous under treasurer position. I thinks her ship may have sailed..

Timing during the afternoon half of town is pissed we’re sure completely coincidental.

Couldn’t he wait until Christmas Eve?

😀 😀 😀 oh look, there’s hell freezing over

Andrew Cappie-Wood, remember, is the arch hypocrite who told Canberrans a few years ago during a “consultation” that they should embrace high-density housing – just after he bought an acreage on the outskirts of Canberra for hissselfie.

Then the little coward went into hiding, after his inconsistency was raised in said forum.

Only to say – of “hung up his ruby pinned hat” – an encouraging sign of life on this massively ocker afternoon – thank you.

Who’s pissed? Based on the grammar of that sentence, I’m guessing you are!

Timing during the afternoon half of town is pissed we’re sure completely coincidental.
