Andrew Leigh on Doctor Who

Member for Fraser Andrew Leigh has fittingly blogged his speech to Parliament on the upcoming 50th anniversary of Doctor Who.

There is much fruit here. Certainly my own childhood experience, in which the only half-hour of TV I had each day was Dr Who, has made me a lifelong lover of this series and one who believes that the lessons of Dr Who writ large can not only benefit the film industry, as the member for Moreton so articulately put it but can perhaps one of these days give us a better government. I commend the motion to the House.

As importantly it gives me the opportunity to embed the Night of the Doctor mini episode which is causing Whovians worldwide to soil themselves.

Day of the Doctor here we come!

As much as I like Dr Leigh, it’s speeches like these that should be held up high when responding to those that argue that government shouldn’t be wasting time on trivial matters like same-sex marriage so that they can go back to dealing with the important matters of the nation/state/territory.
