I think it’s great that Andrew Leigh wants me to say YES to climate action, but ironic that he sent me and my husband 3 identical letters EACH regarding this today…

Anyone else in Fraser cop this?

One must remember that Bob McMullan only appeared every three or so years.

Perhaps, but he was working hard behind the scenes at the time; his office put a lot of effort into fixing a govt ballsup for me, and I’ve met several other people he helped. (His office also dropped the ball badly on at least one occasion that I know of, so it’s not all good – but at least they were doing stuff).

Given the caning that Labor’s likely to take at the next election, it’s good that Andrew is getting publicity – given his economic credentials he’s the obvious choice for Shadow Treasurer, so the sooner he’s seen as in the running for the job, the better.

indeed.

and as caf suggested, yes, bob was parliamentary secretary – sort of junior or secondary minister – for overseas development. minister of ausaid, basically…

He did have ministerial / shadow ministerial duties for a lot of that time, though.

be thankful for the safeguards in place that meant he had to send to individual enrolled voters rather than be able to mine the data for conglomerate households… small mercies? i think he’s doing a good job – he seems to be very accessible and personable when you meet him.

True, dat.

Nice to see someone a bit keen though, rather than an invisible Canberra member.

Invisible should mean they’re working hard behind the scenes. All Andrew Leigh seems to do is act the lapdog for senior MPs doing photo-op after photo-op. I’ve lost count of how many shots there are of Gillard or Swan with him just off their shoulder doing that deranged toothy grin.

That said, at least he doesn’t manage to misspeak in every single interview like Brodtman does.
She said recently the government is “elected by the people of government”
And last night said Labor is committed to job loses… oops.

Nice to see someone a bit keen though, rather than an invisible Canberra member.

I’m not in Fraser, but have recieved two of those DL flyers so far.

If they’re the same letter (DL sized postacred?) that we got, he can’t even tell his right from his left.
