The Canberra Times reports that the former chief of the National Capital Authority, Annabelle Pegrum, is to be the head of architecture at the University of Canberra.

How do you feel about the architectural legacy of Professor Pegrum’s decade running the NCA?

Typical architect. They wouldn’t know common sense if it bit them in the nose.

I guess she needs a job after finishing at the NCA

All i can say is that i am glad i graduate from Architecture in a few short weeks, and that i will not be affected as a student by this woman. The NCA was such a poorly run dept and i think that if her level of management skills are brought with her to the job of head of Architecture then the current students should pack up and move to Sydney.

I also don’t like the fact people call her Professor, in the six years i’ve spent studying Architecture at UC i have not seen her give a lecture once, or even critique a single students work.

did the NCA have to make a deal with UC to get rid of her?

Some would say that, based on her record, Annabelle Pegrum is totally unsuited to looking after students – or anyone with “emotional baggage” (viz. death of Katie Bender and attendant inquiry which revealed her heartless assessments as an adviser to Kate Carnell).

Are you drunk ?
