Another coach gone in round two?

The Sydney Morning Herald has grim news for Brumbies fans as Jake White’s commitment to the side looks increasingly shaky:

The Brumbies sent out an intriguing media release yesterday explaining that White had told them he had been ”sounded out” for the England coaching job. Brumbies chief executive Andrew Fagan admitted he was ”naturally disappointed with the disruption” caused by the speculation. White, who startled Brumbies elders by not making Stephen Moore his captain, was not at yesterday’s team announcement, and will also be absent from today’s captain’s run. The media were yesterday told to limit their questions to one – and to skipper Ben Mowen only. This directive apparently came from ”the coaching staff”. In spite of White’s disappearing act, the word remains another South African – Nick Mallett – will coach England. And White remaining Brumbies coach until the end of 2015? Yeah right.

Despite RiotACT’s long term interest in the Brumbies we appear to have been cut adrift from their media release distribution. But then so have the fans been with no sign of this release on their website.

White ha confirmed he’s staying with the Brumbies.

I can’t wait to see some of the media response.

It certainly makes Hoikrs look more like a douche after his bitter remarks.

Doesn’t he have a contract ? Who writes these things ? I assume he will be paying out the remaining 4 years.

I’m not aware of any of the details of this particular contract but up to three of those years could be options.

So you decide to totally rebuild your roster and structure around a particular coach but you leave get out clauses in the contract.

Who would do that ?

Because no coach would sign a contract without those clauses.

They’re pretty much standard.

So you have a choice of getting a numpty coach without get out clauses or a world class coach with get out clauses.

Which one would you prefer?

Sitting here today, i’d prefer one that lasts more than two games. Not much point having a world class coach that doesn’t give a rats arse.

The same organisation who listens to the players when they say it’s not their fault, it’s the coaching staff.

I’ve defended him for a while but there does seem to be a common factor to the Brumbies troubles

Usually coaches have get out clauses if they get a national team coaching job.

I knew it was too good to be true, the Brumbies having a decent coach. According to today’s Daily Telegraph (which usually prints the truth) Jake White doesn’t like Canberra and is itching to get out.

The Daily Telegraph usually prints the truth? Really?

“Despite RiotACT’s long term interest in the Brumbies we appear to have been cut adrift from their media release distribution….”

Well, you did (apparently) upset their restaurant review ‘staff’! 😉

I knew it was too good to be true, the Brumbies having a decent coach. According to today’s Daily Telegraph (which usually prints the truth) Jake White doesn’t like Canberra and is itching to get out.

The ones I feel sorry for are the players who were forced to give up their prized spots in Shute Shield teams, and the supporters who were sold a pup with the promise that White would spearhead a renaissance which would culminate in the Brumbies winning premierships again.

This latest development is a change for the Brumbies in that a coach is leaving on his own accord rather than being the victim of a player revolt.

If White leaves before year end, Fagan will have a lot to answer to. What’s the point of beginning to instill what is clearly a long term plan for the development of the players and the club when you jump at the first pretty little offer to come along?
