The Canberra Times reports Screen Australia funding for a second feature film based on Anu Singh and the killing of her boyfriend Joe Cinque.

Apparently the Helen Garner book will be the basis of the film.

Update: this movie about murdered Joe Cinque the rather chilling Anu Singh will be released soon. Fortunately, it is based on Helen Garner’s excellent book so there is a chance that it will give the narcissist Singh’s excuses short shrift.

I’d be pretty happy about that. Unless Garner’s book seriously misrepresented the facts, what Ms. Singh did to Joe Cinque should not be allowed to fade into history while she ‘gets on with her life’.

Don’t forget her little helper-monkey, Madhavi Rao.

I assume that by saying ‘second feature’ you’re including the film “the dinner party” as the first feature.

Easily one of the worst films ever made. Just because a film is ‘indie’ doesn’t mean it has to be unbearable.

Diminished responsibility my arse >:( Not too crazy to premeditate the murder, not too crazy to get a degree. Just too crazy to do the time for it, it’s a load of bulls***.

So is it cheaper to keep her at University or in prison all this time?

Garner needs Trey Parker and Matt Stone to do the final scene, ala Chef’s demise.

Damn straight. The deliberate, coldly calculated and horrific murder of an innocent young man by an evil nutter resulted in her being subjected to the savage penalty of 4 years in the slammer, IIRC. I believe she’s now doing a higher degree at a uni somewhere in NSW on the topic of how hard her life has been. Meanwhile, poor old Joe, who only had one life, has lost it, never to get it back.

If it was up to me, she’d be locked away in the “never to be released” bin.

if it were up to me id lock her in a room and keep dosing her up on heroin – or would that be too harsh?

Read Helen Garner’s book. It’s chilling. Garner loathes the loathesome Anu Singh and gives her no quarter. Its title is “Joe Cinque’s Consolation” for good reason – it was written as something of a consolation for Cinque’s ever-grieving parents. By way of illustration regarding just how skin-crawling is Singh – she is the only interviewee who has ever unsettled the ABC’s usually urbane and sanguine Phillip Adams, who was creeped out to the extent that he said so the day after interviewing her. I’d love to know how the equally creepy ANU law students – granted anonymity – are faring in their law careers, having passively, and knowingly, participated in the murder by ignoring it while it happened around them. Scum.
