Another New Acton Fire

ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a small fire in a kitchen of a cafe in the New Acton precinct.

Firefighters forced entry to the Urban Food Cafe on Marcus Clarke Street to find food stuffs left cooking on the stove.

Minimal damage.

Crews currently conducting ventilation and air monitoring operations clearing smoke from the kitchen.

Approx 40 people evacuated from the commercial/residential building as a precaution.

Two fire pumpers on scene with the breathing apparatus unit and a command vehicle.

Crews alerted following an Automatic Fire Alarm at 5.16am and should depart the scene by 6.30am.
