Another Parkwood mulch fire

ACT Fire & Rescue are on scene at a mulch fire at the Parkwood Industrial Estate, Parkwood Road, Macgregor.

Estimated size of mulch fire is 1600 square metres.

Two fire pumpers, four Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) tankers, the Bronto Skylift Hydraulic platform, the Breathing Apparatus Van and two Commanders are working to extinguish the mulch fire.

No property under threat.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 2.52pm.

Crews are using heavy plant equipment to break up the mulch, with water and foam being used to extinguish the mulch fire.

Most of the fire has now been extinguished with crews dampening down the mulch pile.

ACT Fire & Rescue are continuing with fire fighting operations.

Most of the mulch fire has been extinguished.

Some crews will remain on site into the early evening to continue operations in dampening down the mulch pile to ensure no flare-ups occur.

5:46 PM

ACT Fire & Rescue has completely extinguished the mulch fire.

Crews are completing operations and are due to depart the scene shortly.
