The ESA has announced that, having brought everyone home for the Balfour funeral, they’re sending a taskforce back into danger with difficult conditions forecast.

    ACT to send fifth taskforce to Victorian bushfires

    The ACT will today (Thursday) send its fifth taskforce deployment to Victoria to assist with the current bushfires.

    ACT Taskforce 5 will consist of a total of 15 firefighting vehicles and personnel from the ACT Fire Brigade and ACT Rural Fire Service with a range of support similar to previous deployments including intensive care paramedics, state emergency service volunteers, mechanics and an ICT technician.

    The latest ACT deployment will cover one shift a day tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday before returning to Canberra on Monday.

    The taskforce are expected to report to local fire controllers at Daylesford then be assigned to a fireground within the area.
