ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery which occurred in Belconnen last night (Monday, November 18).
Around 10.10pm a man was walking along Hennessy Street when he was confronted by a man holding a knife.
The man threatened the victim with the knife and the victim dropped his backpack, causing his wallet to fall to the ground.
The offender took the wallet and ran off in the direction of Eastern Valley Way.
The offender is described as African in appearance approximately 185cm (6’1”) tall with an average build. He was wearing an orange hooded jumper with the hood pulled over his head and long pants.
Police are investigating whether the aggravated robbery overnight has any links to two aggravated robberies which occurred in Belconnen on Friday night (November 15) and Sunday (November 17) night last week.
Anyone who may have seen men matching the description or has knowledge which may assist police with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

“Shitty”
But seriously, I think that it would not be too long before some well focused, non-seditious, posse comitatus action occurs due to seemingly out of controls FOB’s in our community. And that would be weird in Canberra.

I hate African thieves as much as Caucasian, Indian and Asian thieves.

It’s not racist if it is true…….just saying.
“Racism! You’re all racists!!”
(hought I’d beat the rush.)
Hennessy street equals many types of human trash
This morning I was at the Magistrates Courts to be a witness against someone who assisted with a low-level theft in Belconnen in January. It was all over quickly because the guy (about 19yo) changed his mind and decided to plead guilty. When he came out of court and informed his father that he had plead guilty, his old man when ‘off his tree’, so I can only assume that junior had been fibbing to daddy.
I occasionally walk my dogs at night, particularly in winter when “night” pretty much means anytime I’m not at work..
I always carry a walking stick with me, and not because I’m infirm. For those who are interested, an interesting range of walking sticks and other useful things may be found here
Are there any details on the Friday night incident? I know police are looking at CCTV footage around the Luxton Street area, in particular the Woolies servo/Canberra Cellars Bottle-O area.
