ANU gets Microsoft Tech Lounge

Microsoft has set up a lounge at the ANU where students can use their products to study or relax. Microsoft is probably hoping to lure some students away from the Apple brand. If they wanted to create a positive experience for students to associate with their products, they probably shouldn’t have included a Kinect.

In a first for the ACT, ANU has joined forces with Microsoft to create the ‘Tech Lounge’, a space featuring Xbox 360s with Kinect and surface tablets, laptops and desktop computers with the latest touchscreen technology. Among the games is Ninja Fruit, in which players can chop fruit in half with the move of an arm, no controller required.

So go Fruit Ninja at the ANU with your arms. Enjoy.

I love the magnifying glass on the desk so that the user can read the screen…

That is such an ugly beast that it is almost desirable.

Among the games is Ninja Fruit, in which players can chop fruit in half with the move of an arm, no controller required.

I did that yesterday, while making a fruit salad.

Picture reminds me of the 70’s. Just saying.
