Anyone in Canberra that can build a wire mesh storage bin for me?

No idea where to look for a firm that can do this, but I want someone to build me a strong wire storage container that I can put on the front of my camper trailer to hold fire wood and such like.

To whom would I turn in Canberra to help me?

Cheers!

Update – got this made in the end by Tuggers Metal Centre, as I’m in Kambah. If you’re prepared to wait, receive little in the way of customer service, receive a product that looks like its maker was in a hurry to get to the pub but will do the job, slightly longer widthways but shorter height wise than originally specced, and cheap, these are your boys.

The 950 x 360 x 360mm cage with hinged lid cost me $200 all up which I thought was decent value. It only took me an extra half an hour to grind down the sharp edges where the mesh had been cut, and drill holes in the hinge plates so that I could put some bolts in to stop one of the hinges falling off as only half of it was welded on. And the small bolts & nuts only cost me $10 or so, so no dramas.

We got a quote to build a small handrail/fence for the front porch, about 12′ long in total, for nearly 3k from one of the commercial welders. Quick shop around for the materials shows theyre making quite a nice hefty markup on the work. Find a mate with a welder, offer them a bag of welding rods and a case of beer and you’ll probably get exactly what you want.

resort trailers in qbn may be able to put something together too.

Wow, never thought I’d get a reply to this. Thanks heaps all..

If you’re on the northside try Hall Metal Fabrication.

page 17 of the current bunnings catalogue has a diamond plate tool box for $85 (100x35x40cm). Why not just drill a few holes in the bottom. That way you can use if for other storage when you haven’t got firewood.

If you’re on the southside, try Tuggeranong Metal Centre in Reed St (6293 2466). Not sure about mesh cages but they’ve built steel frames for me. The guy who owns it does a bit of 4WD and camping so he might be able to help you out.

Check out http://www.ssostorage.com.au – We do alot of custom storage solutions including cages and tubs. We should be able to do this for you.

Prestige Metalworks in Isa St Fyshwick would probably be able to help you out.

Ask at somewhere like Metal Mart in Fyshwick
